Affiliate Glossary of Terms

Affiliate: Someone who advertises a merchant's
products in exchange for a commission when an
action is completed. In CPA Warehouse, most of the
time the action must be a sale, but there are a few
offers where merchants pay commission on leads.

Affiliate Link: A unique piece of code that is generated for each affiliate for each offer. This is how a sale is tracked to you in our affiliate program and no one else. It is imperative that you do not edit these links; your sale's tracking may be compromised.

Click-through: When a visitor clicks on an affiliate link.

Click-through Rate: The percentage of visitors who actually click-through an affiliate link.

Commission: In CPA Warehouse, the income an affiliate receives for the completion of a sale or lead. Commission is a certain percentage of the completed sale and varies from offer to offer.

Conversion Rate: How often a visitor places an order after clicking an affiliate link.

Cookie: A file that is placed on visitors' computers when they visit our merchant approved landing pages. This file remembers who and how a visitor got to the landing page. Cookies are not malicious; they cannot access information on people's hard drives, nor do they carry viruses, trojans, worms, etc. In CPA Warehouse's affiliate program, cookies expire after 24 hours.

Cost Per Action (CPA) : A fixed amount merchants pay affiliates after an action is completed (usually this is an order).

Creatives: The banners, images, and text links available to affiliates that aid in the advertising of CPA Warehouse's offers.

Earnings Per Click (EPC): The average payout per hundred clicks.

Opt-in: A method of subscribing people to a mailing list. The key to this is that people choose to join the mailing list on their own.
